BOLO: USCG is searching on the Caloosahatchee River for a man who fell overboard from a tourist boat on Friday night at around 8:15 PM. USCG advised they are searching in the area of Marker 64 on the River near the Midpoint Bridge.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Multiple agencies are searching the Caloosahatchee near the Midpoint Bridge for a man who fell off a passenger boat, the Coast Guard reported.

Crews have been searching for at least two hours and have not found the man as of 10:30 p.m.

A witness said the man fell overboard from a JC Cruise boat around 8:15 p.m. At 10 p.m., the man’s family and everyone who did not witness him go overboard was removed from the boat, the witness said.

The Coast Guard has a helicopter in the air sweeping the area. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission [FWC] and Fort Myers Police Department are also on scene.
