BOLO for FV Makalapuaonalani Hawaii
Captain Earl Kekuana’oa Hind, 42 years old, was last seen off the south side of the Big Island of Hawaii on April 9, 2025 underway, and just off the coast near Miloli’i, trolling for Ono’s. He has no VHF, NO EPIRB, and his cell phone died.
He was going from this location to fish a private buoy about 20 miles offshore from there, and no reports have been made since. His boat was very capable, and he is a very experienced, knowledgeable waterman and captain. He had plenty of fish, food, water, bait, and ice to last him for 20+ days or more.
The missing boat is a 21 foot Force with a 2 foot extension. Registration is HA4969 with a hailing port of Kona, Hawaii.
Keep a sharp lookout, assist if possible and provide information to JRCC Honolulu.
