USCG Honolulu provided the following information:

S/V C Spray is not dismasted and is safely making way to Oahu at this time. We are in touch and maintaining communications with them as we track their progress. Safety Net message was cancelled at 022038 UTC AUG 21.

Thank you for your assistance. No further HF relays are required at this time.

 

Broadcast Version For Maritime Mobile Service Network and Other Nets

A Non-Emergency Lookout has been issued concerning a 31-foot Sailing Vessel named “C Spray” with one person on board, headed to Honolulu, and presently adrift at 26-00.9N / 148-19.4W. His ETA is approximately 8 days.

Phone contact by Boat Watch with JRCC Honolulu revealed the sailboat contacted USCG via a Garmin In-Reach. His mast is still standing, but the standing rigging has been compromised. JRCC is monitoring the sailboat via the Garmin In Reach.

All vessels are requested to keep a sharp lookout, assist if possible and report to JRCC Honolulu.

Subsequent phone contact with JRCC Honolulu revealed the contact came via a Garmin In-Reach. His mast still standing, but the standing rigging has been compromised.

The solo sailor is slowly headed to Honolulu, and presently located at 26-00.9N / 148-19.4W. His ETA is approximately 8 days. The sailor JRCC Honolulu is monitoring the situation via the Garmin I-Reach.
