Update: Cancel NON-EMERGENCY BOAT WATCH FOR SV LADY LANA
PLEASE CANCEL BOLO FOR THE SV LADY Lana
At 0830 hrs Eastern Time, 22 NOV 2019, the USCG District 5 advised Boatwatch.org the SV LADY LANA has been located and no further action is requested by the USCG.
The U.S. Coast Guard has asked Boatwatch.org‘s assistance in locating the SV LADY LANA, only described as a 44’ sailboat, white hull, with three persons on board. Forrest Holden, age 72 and his wife Olena Holden, age 40 and one other unidentified person aboard.
During our research into the vessel, Boat Watch received some more information about the vessel. According to documentation LADY LANA has two masts. Ketch rigged. Stem Raked. Stern Reverse transom. Build type carvel.
They departed Norfolk, Virginia on 11 NOV 2019 with a destination of St Thomas USVIs. The USCG acknowledges they are not yet overdue, however, a relative is worried because they are not answering their Inmarsat Phone.
They do have an EPIRB aboard and a VHF Radio, and Inmarsat Phone 870-776-223-233.
They are not part of the Salty Dog rally, and not a sponsoring vessel of Chris Parker’s Marine Weather Service.
