UPDATE: September 3, 2021

The USCG JRCC Honolulu advised the concerned friend notified the USCG the S/V LIAHONA does have a Garmin In Reach tracking device aboard. His current position is 13-27N / 173-51.6 E or approximately 400 NM NNE of Majuro, Marshal Islands. They are no longer tracking the S/V LIAHONA and this case is considered resolved.

NON-EMERGENCY BOAT WATCH FOR S/V LIAHONA

The USCG JRCC Honolulu has issued a BOLO regarding an overdue 32′ pilothouse cutter, William Garden design, made by Capitol Yachts, Corp, named S/V LIAHONA. The vessel has one person on board, age 80. He is on passage since 19 July 2021 from Hawaii to Majuro, Marshall Islands, a voyage of approximately 1,978 NM.

The USCG JRCC Honolulu has issued a BOLO regarding an overdue 32′ pilothouse cutter, William Garden design, made by Capitol Yachts, Corp, named S/V LIAHONA. The vessel has one person on board, Anthony (Jim) Willis, age 80. He has been on passage since 19 July 2021 from Hawaii to Majuro, Marshall Islands, a voyage of approximately 2,659 NM.

We do not have a photograph of the S/V LIAHONA, however we are posting a generic photo of a Gulf 32.

All vessels transiting the area between Hawaii and the Marshall Islands are requested to keep a sharp lookout, and report any sightings to the USCG Hawaii at phone number 808-555-3333.
