On August 12, 2021, SSCA’s KPK Radio Broadcast received radio traffic from amateur radio operator that an 80 foot coastal freighter, “Jed Express” is abandoned and adrift off of Great Inagua in the Bahamas at 21-00N/073-46W.
RCC Miami advised that the coastal freighter was the subject of a search and rescue on August 11, 2021. Four crew members were rescued and taken ashore by USCG helicopter. The vessel was taking on water at the time of the rescue.
