MRCC Fort de France and the Command Center USCG San Juan request cruisers Be On The Lookout for SV “SIDONIA” on passage from St. Martin to the Azores with three persons on board.
The SV was last heard from on March 18, 2025 reporting to MRCC Fort de France that the vessel had propeller issues. S/V departed SINT MARTEEN on 18MAR25 in the afternoon, and was headed North – Northeast, making around 05kts. A dead reckoning position would now place S/V SIDONIA approximately 300 Nautical Miles from St. Martin. No further AIS tracks reported since 2018Z on 18MAR25 approximately 20NM NNE Sint Mateen.
SV “SIDONIA” is described as a 40 foot White 1986 Hans Christian, hailing port San Francisco, with a Starlink, EPIRB HEX ID: 2DCCA D8D96 FFBFF, AIS Class A, Radio Call Sign: WDM 5524 and MMSI is 368216730.
On board are Janusz Piotrowski, 50 years old and a U.S. citizen and Tristan Piotrowski, son of Janusz, age 23 and also a U.S. citizen. The third person is not known at this time.
