BOLO for SV ALCHEMY on Passage San Diego to Hawaii

RCC Alameda urgently requests all boaters to be on the lookout for SV ALCHEMY and to report any further information concerning the captain or the vessel.

Solo captain Marvin Burrmann, 75 years old, with medical problems, left from Driscolls Bay Marina in San Diego approximately two to three weeks ago. The planned trip was to take 21 days or more.

The SV is a 32-foot white sloop rig, California Registration (CF3426FS) with blue dodger, blue stripe on the hull and blue sail covers. The sailing vessel left with more than adequate provisions of food, water and fuel. The last signal from a cell phone on board was July 30, 2025.

There is some information to indicate that the captain may be meeting another sailing vessel in Hawaii for a trip to Australia.

If anyone has additional information concerning SV ALCHEMY, the captain Marvin Burrmann or his contact in Hawaii please contact RCC Alameda, JRCC Honolulu or your nearest Coast Guard.

Keep a sharp lookout, assist if possible and report any sightings to nearest Coast Guard or authorities.
