Great News for Archie but Sv Angela is on the rocksThe Public Entity Saba would like to provide an update on a situation that unfolded earlier today and continued into this evening.
Local fishermen reported a vessel on the rocks near the All Too Far Trail, between Sulphur Mine and Diamond Rock. Following notifying the Harbor Master, Saba’s SAR team responded and found that the vessel was unmanned, except for a dog on board. The dog was brought safely ashore and is now being cared for.
Information received indicates that the vessel belongs to a resident of St. Barths who had been searching for the vessel and their dog for several days. The suspected owner will be contacted to confirm details and arrange the next steps.
The Public Entity Saba thanks everyone involved in reporting the vessel, coordinating the response, rescuing the dog, and providing care afterward.

SV Angela drifted away or was stolen from a mooring in St. Barts on August 12 or 13, 2026 with a dog, named Archie on board. It is unknown if it was stolen or broke loose.
SV Angela is described as a Juneau Sun Odessey, 45.2 feet, white hull, dragging a12 foot Walker Bay dinghy and registration, Pointe à Pitre , PPB 79509. The owner is on Whats App at +596696162071.
