USCG San Juan requests assistance in locating this large dinghy between St. Thomas and Fajardo. Report below:
On 26 May 2026 0029Z USCG Sector San Juan Received email reporting a lost/stranded dinghy at sea near Sail Rock, between St. Thomas and Fajardo.
The dinghy is a 2026 Briggs, 22 ft, white and black in color, with a 300HP Mercury motor (TT Meant to Works, PR-9342AD). Incident occurred between 1645-1700 local time while transiting from St. Thomas to Fajardo; towing kit broke, dinghy began taking on water, and the motor failed to start.
Due to unsafe conditions, the dinghy was abandoned and Sea Tow was unable to assist due to location and weather.
